Four basic steps

  • How do I find a broadcast property that is "For Sale"

Broadcast brokers and communications attorneys will be able to assist you in finding a property that meets your specifications. The FCC does not have a list of stations for sale, as many assume.

  • What is the next step after we agree to buy a property

A copy of the agreement should be filed with the FCC within 30 days. Next you are required to file an application, Form 314, with the FCC plus a fee of $725.00.

  • How long will it take for the forms to be processed

The FCC will process the information in approximately 60 to 90 days. (Make sure all information is current) this will just delay the process. A good broker and communications attorney can guide you through the steps.

  • How long do we have after the application is granted

You have a 60 day period to consummate the sale. Notify the Commission within 24 hours of the consummation date. Within 30 days you'll need to file an Ownership Report, Form 323.
